MARINE MAMMAL HABITATS
The Superior Aqua System operates automatically, in conjunction with the water system being disinfected. A flow-cell houses specially formulated copper/silver electrodes that deplete at a designed rate into the water system. A long term disinfecting residual is achieved and maintained within the system. This residual is unaffected by heat or sunlight, unlike most halogens chemicals that degrade rapidly under both conditions. The Superior Aqua System technology includes 'cutting-edge', digital circuitry throughout the control panel, which applies low, direct current voltage to the electrodes within the flow-cell. By reversing polarity to the electrodes, at predetermined intervals, a carefully controlled stream of ions are released into the water and build to an easily measured disinfecting residual. When using low levels of chlorine with the Superior Aqua System, (typically .2 to .4 ppm) an enhanced biological control factor is attained producing clean, safe water at a low chemical cost. The Superior Aqua System in Marine Mammal Habitats also provides substantial operational cost savings while at the same time reducing the halogen impact on eyes, teeth and skin of the marine mammal occupants. Studies have shown the system can effectively reduce halogen levels to 0.1 ppm and still maintain water that is free of bacteria and algae. Improvements in water clarity and extended filter runs have been realized. The Superior Aqua System may be used on open or closed systems. The Superior Aqua System will enhance the efficiency of a chiller or heater if employed. |
