FRUITWASH
Outbreaks of human diseases associated with the consumption of raw fruits and vegetables have increased over the past decade. Fruits and vegetables can become contaminated with micro-organisms capable of causing human disease while still on the plant in the fields or orchards, during harvesting, transport, processing and distribution. The Superior Aqua Agricultural System achieved a 3.5 log reduction of micro-organisms. The use of chlorine in conjunction with the Superior Aqua Agricultural System will achieve additional reduction of micro-organisms. Water from the wash tank is circulated through the system and ionized. The copper ions adhere to the fruit or vegetable reducing microorganisms and provide additional protection from disease transmission during shipping.
